Thread scheduling on X (Twitter) and Instagram Threads - Current limitations

Post Bridge currently does not support scheduling threads on X (Twitter) or Instagram Threads due to technical and cost limitations.

What are threads?

Threads are a series of connected posts that allow you to share longer-form content across multiple posts. On X (Twitter), threads let you link tweets together to tell a story or share detailed information. Instagram Threads refers to threaded posts on Meta's Threads platform.

Current limitations

Post Bridge does not currently support scheduling the following types of content:

  • Twitter/X threads (series of connected tweets)

  • Instagram Threads (threaded posts on Meta's Threads platform)

  • Split tweets or series of posts on X

You can still schedule individual posts to X and Instagram Threads, but not threaded content that spans multiple connected posts.

Why this limitation exists

The primary reason for this limitation is the high cost of the X API. The X API costs $5,000 per month, which makes it financially challenging to implement thread scheduling functionality at Post Bridge's current pricing structure.

This high API cost would push Post Bridge closer to expensive usage limits, making it difficult to offer the feature affordably to users.

Future plans

The Post Bridge team hopes to add thread scheduling functionality in the future when it becomes more affordable. Current plans include:

  • Adding thread scheduling when API costs become more manageable

  • Potentially offering this feature with extra charges for X accounts to offset the high API costs

  • Continuing to monitor API pricing changes that might make this feature viable

Alternative solutions

While waiting for thread scheduling support, you can:

  • Schedule individual posts to X and Instagram Threads

  • Manually create threads after your scheduled posts go live

We appreciate your patience as we work toward making thread scheduling available in the future.
